May 18, 2024

Government will soon be moving to create a facility where those within the clothing and garment sectors, along with the services and cultural industry sectors will have access to much needed equipment, to set the tone for business going forward.

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley made the revelation during the Goddard Enterprises 100th Anniversary Entrepreneur Competition Awards at the Errol Barrow Centre For Creative Imagination.

She says already at Newton in Christ Church, Government has established a major food production facility to assist entrepreneurs with industry equipment through micro-leasing.

The Prime Minister notes the facility is currently exporting to the USA, and is hopeful by the end of this year it will be asset compliant.

Prime Minister Mottley adds that the role of Barbados in the 21st century has to be one that functions as an international hub.

She urges Barbados to drive entrepreneurship through the marine environment to gain a competitive advantage.
