The Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic Bill 2024 is the latest in a suite of legislation introduced by Government to ensure Barbados is compliant with the obligations of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).
Leader of Government Business in the Senate, Senator Lisa Cummins as she led off debate in the Upper House paid kudos to all involved, noting it was a journey to get to Barbados to the current stage.
Cummins, the Minister of Energy and a former chair of the Barbados Port Incorporated says the landmark legislation will assist in modernising Barbados maritime space and the way in which people will interface with the Bridgetown Port.
