Government is planning to decentralise sporting facilities by creating mini stadiums across the island.
The revelation from Minister of Sports Dwight Sutherland, after he and officials from the National Sports Council toured various playing fields which have been earmarked for the installation of lights.
The Minister says the eight million dollar project will form part of Government’s sports development thrust.
Minister Sutherland also updated the media on plans to replace the Ryan Brathwaite track at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex, which could disrupt the 2022 track and field season.
