Greater cooperation is coming between Barbados and Cuba in the areas of culture and sports and biotechnology.
This was one of the announcements made last evening at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre after the leaders of the two republics met with each other.
A number of ministers were in attendence as links are being made in the areas of trade, sports, agriculture and others.
The signing of a memorandum of cooperation was done between Export Barbados and BioCubaFarma in the area of biotechnology.
Chief Executive Officer of Barbados Export Mark Hill signed, along with President of BioCubaFarma Dr. Eduardo Martínez Díaz.
This came a day ahead of the 8th Cuba-CARICOM summit which officially opens this morning.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley spoke about the agreement.
