Greene wins Gabrielle Gay Award

Congratulations to our very own Shawn Greene, as he recently won the Gabrielle Gay Award at the Barbados Community College.

The award is awarded to students who have done extremely well in the English Literature Programme.

Greene, who graduated with a Double Major in Environmental Science and English Literature, is the third recipient of the award.

Greene, who is a former sports editor right here at CBC, but was recently reassigned to our Archive Department, stated he was a little stunned that he won the award.

However, he believes that working in broadcasting for almost twenty years proved to be an advantage while doing his studies.

Greene, who was the oldest in his classes, admitted that English Literature wasn’t his first choice.

He has, however, stated that he will be putting these skills to use in the near future.
