The Health Ministry says it is working hard to solve the issues that have caused the slow return of COVID-19 test results.
In a statement issued through the Government Information Service, the Ministry said it is aware some members of the public have been waiting longer than the 48 hour time frame to receive their test results.
The Ministry says the delay is due to the significant increase in the number of people presenting themselves for COVID-19 tests, as a result of contact tracing.
Additionally, there have been some samples which could not be processed and will need to be re-taken.
The Ministry says it regrets the inconvenience caused to members of the public and is working assiduously to address these challenges in the shortest possible time.
It adds health officials will continue to work on improving the system in an effort to provide satisfactory service to the public.
