CMC – A double on Friday’s nine-race card at Gulfstream Park, Hallandale Beach, Florida kept Barbadian trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. on course for a sensational title capture.

The 35-year-old defending champion sent out winners in race six with 3-1 chance Unsociable and in race eight with 5-1 bet Bluefield, to move to 62 wins for the 5-½ month season which winds up next weekend.

He is on course to match his tally from the same campaign last year when he racked up 71 wins to win by 36 in another blow out.

Joseph currently leads by 33, Rohan Crichton lying second on 29.

Jockey Alisa Morrison gave Joseph his first win when she piloted three-year-old brown colt UnSociable to a narrow win over the three-year-olds and upward.

Tape to Tape made the early running in the 5-½ furlong dash before Morrison brought Unsociable off the pace to edge favourite Panther Island by a head.

Jockey Leonel Reyes then delivered for Joseph in a six furlong contest for the three-year-old and upward fillies and mares, leading the six-year-old bay mare Bluefield to an emphatic five-length victory.

Bluefield stalked favourite Dem a Wonder from second before being roused by Reyes to take control at the of the stretch and dismiss his rivals.
