An initiative intended to reverse the decline in literacy in Barbados has been launched.
It’s the Barbados is Blooming initiative and involves establishing mini libraries at community centres across the island.
Acting Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Davidson Ishmael said it’s a project of the Community Development Department, the Prince Godwill D Fomusoh Foundation Inc. and the Massy Foundation.
