A senior education official has called attention to learning deficiencies in school children.
Director of the Education Reform Unit, Dr. Idamay Denny says at times they are not discovered until late in school life.
She says interventions are critical in the island’s quest to transform Barbadians into global citizens.
Dr. Denny added with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic it was recognised officials had to focus on social and emotional learning.
