The re-enactment of the journey of Jesus Christ took place on Friday as the Sons of God Apostolic Church did the stations of the cross with the traditional Good Friday walk.
On Good Friday, the day that commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, the stations of the cross take on particular significance.
The 14 stations of the cross started at the Sons of God Richmond location and the members moved through the district to start the various stages which commemorate the journey of Jesus Christ to his crucifixion and burial.
The practice involves meditating on fourteen scenes or “stations” that depict the events of Christ’s passion, from his condemnation to death to his burial.
