Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Corey Lane, has responded to critics of Government’s plan to roll out a social programme targeting 1000 impoverished families.
People on social media have been suggesting the number is insufficient.
However, Mr. Lane has stressed the number of individuals will be significantly more.
He estimates there are about 25,000 people or 3500 families in need of direct assistance.
He’s therefore urging Barbadians to do their part to help those in need.
