The leaders of Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago have intervened in the dispute between the fisherfolk of their two nations.
The issue at hand revolves around recent accusations that Barbadian fishermen are overfishing in Tobago’s waters.
Speaking to the media on her return from the just concluded crime symposium in T&T, Ms. Mottley revealed she’s held talks with Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley on the issue.
She says an agreement has been reached on the way forward.
Ms. Mottley gave the update on the sidelines of a Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology Workshop at Accra Beach Hotel.
The focus, “Climate Services to Support Adaptation and Resilience in the Caribbean”.
There, she also gave more details on national plans to address the current drought conditions.
