It’s Diabetes Month and as efforts are being made to heighten awareness about the disease, The Lions Club is playing an active part in the activities.
It is doing so through its Global Village Initiative.
District Governor, Sub District 60B of the International Association of Lions Clubs, Dr. Carlisle Goddard says, the club takes the chronic disease seriously.
He was a guest on CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
World Diabetes Day will be observed tomorrow and Chair, Sub District 60B Leroi Hinds, says testing for the disease will be undertaken across the island.
The week of activities locally commenced with a church service Sunday.
