Local agriculture officials intend to ramp up biosecurity measures in light of the latest reports that African swine fever continues to spread across the globe and it is difficult to track the number of cases.
Agriculture Minister, Indar Weir made the disclosure in the Lower House this morning, as he spoke on the Animal Health and Veterinary Public Health Bill 2022.
He says the intensification of action is geared at preventing the disease from reaching our shores.
