There’s concern the current low vaccination rate in Barbados could put the local health care system at risk of becoming overwhelmed.
That’s why the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners is supporting the current vaccination drive which appears to be picking up pace.
BAMP’s First Vice President, Dr. Adanna Grandison says more people here need to get vaccinated to avoid what is happening in Jamaica and the Bahamas, where hospitals and the health care systems are buckling under the pressure of COVID-19 cases.
She spoke to the recent rise in COVID cases here, with Barbados recording close to 100 cases in about a week.
