Major development in Barbados’ push for accessible financing for SIDS

Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley says she has seen movement on climate action since the launch of the Bridgetown Initiative.

Despite its name, she says it is not solely about Barbados.

The Barbadian leader was at the time speaking to thousands of young people attending a side event of the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact dubbed the Power of our Planet, live from Paris.

Ms. Mottley’s message to world leaders, financial institutions and the private sector – come together and put the funds necessary to assist the world’s most vulnerable countries to adapt and withstand the climate crisis.

He plans to adopt a new mission and vision for the World Bank.
