A 58 year old man who appeared in court yesterday in connection with a number of charges for counterfeit items, has been granted bail.
Leroy Fitzgerald Brathwaite of Wanstead Heights, St. James appeared before acting Magistrate Kim Butcher at the Traffic Court and was given bail in the sum of $8,000.00 with one surety.
He is also required to report to the Central Police Station every Monday by 10:00 a.m., and is scheduled to reappear in court on November 16th, 2022.
The items were discovered after a search warrant was executed at Brathwaite’s store last year by police officers from the Financial Crimes Investigations Asset Recovery Unit. They discovered a large quantity of goods which were suspected to be counterfeit, which included Nike, Jordan, Louis Vuitton and Puma. The items were seized and kept in police custody.
