Man injured in Christ Church shooting

The Barbados Police Service is carrying out investigations into a shooting incident at Bournes Land, St. Christopher, Christ Church., which left a man nursing injuries

They noted in a press release that the incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. yesterday, Monday, October 23, 2023.

Police responded to Bournes Land and conducted initial investigations which revealed that on the mentioned time and date, a number of people were sitting next to a shop in the area when a man approached them from behind and fired several shots towards them. He then ran off in the direction of St. Christopher Primary School.

As a result, a male in his late 30s received several injuries to his right hand and left shoulder. He was transported by ambulance personnel to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for medical treatment.

Investigations are ongoing.
