Man on life support following shooting

Police are probing a suspicious shooting incident in St. Lucy earlier this week which has left a man in hospital fighting for his life.

Confirmation of this from Police PRO Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss.

He tells CBC News lawmen initially responded to reports of a vehicular accident on Wednesday, December 1st around 7:30 in the night at Husbands Road at the junction with Maycocks Terrace in St. Lucy.

Police say it was there that the man, who has not been officially identified, was discovered in the front seat of a minibus with multiple gun shot injuries to the head.

Lawmen say an ambulance was summoned to take the injured man to the QEH for medical treatment, where he remains on life support.

The minibus in which he was found was one which operates on the Checker Hall, St. Lucy route.
