Man shot dead, woman injured in Christ Church shooting

A man has died and his female companion has been seriously injured following a shooting last night.

Police say they were alerted about the incident, which occurred at Keizer Hill Drive, Endeavour, Enterprise, Christ Church, around 9:30.

On responding to the scene, the man’s body was discovered in a bushy area near a residential property after a brief search.

The female was also found with several injuries and was transported by ambulance for medical treatment. She was described as being in serious but stable condition by ambulance personnel.

Police say shortly after the two had arrived home, a number of armed men appeared from a dark bushy area, attacked them and started shooting. Both victims ran away in an attempt to escape injury.

The man was chased and shot a number of times. He died at the scene.

The assailants fled, driving away the car – a gold Toyota Axio with registration number SA3501 – used by the couple.

Police are appealing to the public for any information on this incident. Anyone who has any knowledge of the circumstances is asked to contact the Oistins Police Station at 418- 2612, Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS) or any other Police Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
