Essential workers who went above and beyond in their various roles during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic were presented with a free 6 month subscription of MCTV in the “Nominate a Hero” promotion.
The initiative asked the public to nominate an essential worker they felt was deserving of the grand prize.
Marketing Specialist Nicole Collins says there was an overwhelming response with hundreds of nominations submitted.
One of the 7 winners was Derek Deane, a Manager at Massy Stores. While reflecting on the various challenges brought by the pandemic, he says he is touched by the nomination.
Another winner, Dr. Rochelle Hunte from the Harrison Point Isolation Facility, says she looks forward to using her prize for some much needed relaxation.
