Prepare for warmer temperatures
The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) continues to monitor the progress of Hurricane Sam located near 14.2N 50.5W or approximately 1002Km (622 miles) east of Barbados at 5 pm today, Sunday 26 September 2021.
Sam is currently moving towards the northwest and this motion is expected to continue over the next few days. Based on this trajectory, this system will not pose any direct threat to the island.
As Sam passes to the north of Barbados on Tuesday into Wednesday, we can expect a further reduction in wind speeds, this will lead to warmer than usual air temperatures.
The BMS will continue to monitor the progress of this system over the next few days.
The next update will be at 5 pm tomorrow, Monday 27 September 2021.
