Government’s million trees project is growing.
Minister of Environment and National Beautification Adrian Forde has announced that close to 600,000 trees have been planted, as part of the project launched by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley in 2019.
During a press conference, Mr. Forde says he’s pleased with the project’s progress, despite setbacks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, dendrologist Nigel Jones is insisting the project must not be taken for granted and is calling on Barbadians to keep planting trees.
He reiterates that trees play a fundamental role in various areas.
