The Minister with responsibility for elder affairs is seeking to distance his Ministry from privately drafted legislation focusing on the elderly.
The legislation, drafted by Attorney at Law Corey Beckles and his legal assistant, has now been completed.
However, speaking to the media as he met with constituents today, Minister Kirk Humphrey, said the draft did not go through the correct process, which usually involves the Chief Parliamentary Council.
He is also reassuring Barbadians that Government is working on new elder care legislation.
