Barbados Workers Union General Secretary Toni Moore is calling out some hoteliers for not honouring longstanding, negotiated union arrangements that benefit hotel workers.
Speaking on the sidelines of the BWU Founder’s Day celebration she said workers in the tourism sector deserve better.
She added that workers are not fully benefitting from the service charge, despite it being included in most bills across hotels and restaurants.
According to her, there is an issue with the points committees that should be in place to calculate the service charge and the fair allocation to staff.
