Barbados is where women leaders are born, moulded and established.
But more needs to be done to create additional spaces for women and girls.
The point has been reiterated by Founder and Chairman of the Deaf Heart Project, Che Greenidge.
Ms. Greenidge was the guest speaker at the Soroptimist International Barbados’ 61st annual general meeting at the Accra Beach Hotel, Christ Church.
Ms. Greenidge says it’s important measures are put in place to make spaces safe and inclusive, where all women and girls can connect and support each other.
Further, Ms. Greenidge notes skills training and education are also important.
Additionally, Katrina Bowen was awarded the ‘Frances Chandler Memorial Award’ for 2024 while Kristin Spencer is this year’s ‘UWI Soroptimist International Scholar’.
