More flights to Barbados

March 31, 2024

Several more visitors are expected to make their way to Barbados this winter season.

That is because British Airways (BA) will be increasing flights from 12 to 14. Not only is BA sending additional flights but it is also adding a new airline to the route, the Dreamliner 787-10. The news comes as the island and the airline celebrate their 70th anniversary today.

To mark the occasion Sunday afternoon, British Airways 255 made its inaugural trip to the Grantley Adams International Airport, piloted by captains Stephen Faulks and Rupert Weiss. On that flight, was Minister of Tourism Ian Gooding-Edghill, Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.’s incoming Chief Operating Officer Cheryl Carter, and other British Airways officials. Mr Gooding-Edghill says Barbados is also expected to benefit from increased airlift out of the United States and Canada.

The British Airways Dreamliner also made a second voyage to GAIA Sunday evening from Heathrow International Airport just before 7 p.m.
