More regional businesses to invest in cybersecurity

A cyber security expert expects more businesses in Barbados and the region will gravitate towards investing in cybersecurity this year, due to fears of online breaches.

Neil Harper says there were a number of high-profile breaches in the Caribbean last year and in 2022, targeting not only banking but electricity providers.

His comments came during the first International ICT Forecast and Industry Watch meeting hosted by the Caribbean Communications Union.

Mr. Harper says a shortage in skills in the area of cyber security is impacting the Caribbean.
