Students writing this year’s Caribbean Examinations Council’s exams have been given an extra three weeks to prepare.
They’ve also been given an additional two weeks for the submission of the School Based Assessments (SBAs) for CAPE and CSEC subjects.
The CXC’s Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Wayne Wesley made the announcement during a media briefing. It followed a meeting of the Schools’ Examinations Committee, its governing board, including regional education ministers and other key education stakeholders.
Dr. Wesley says the meeting heard presentations from the stakeholders and took into consideration the vagaries of the ongoing pandemic in deciding on the three week delay.
He also says they’ve undertaken to release the broad topics being covered in the exams within another two or three weeks.
