National Taskforce on Literacy launching soon

Government will be launching a National Taskforce on Literacy next week.

Minister of Education, Technological and Vocational Training Kay McConney, says the Taskforce will be headed by Dr. Sylvia Henry from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus.

She was at the time speaking about closer collaboration with the Labour Ministry during the Estimates Debate.

Meanwhile the Ministry of Labour is embarking on its own literacy initiative as it looks to work with the Education Ministry.

Programme Manager Erika Watson says they are focusing on those entering the workforce.
