Barbados and other Caribbean countries are to benefit from a new partnership with the United States aimed at tackling climate change.
Vice President Kamala Harris in making the announcement, told Caribbean heads that as neighbours, the United States shares common bonds and interests with Caribbean nations.
She acknowledged the region is on the frontline of climate change and revealed the US-Caribbean partnership to address the Climate Crisis 2030 will assist.
Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley was among the Caribbean Heads of Government in Los Angeles for the closed-door meeting with US President Joe Biden, VP Harris and the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The meeting formed part of activities for the ongoing Summit of the Americas being held in Los Angeles.
