Another weapon in the Government’s arsenal in the fight against gun violence in Barbados comes in to effect on Sunday.
The Firearms Amendment Act 2022 will result in stiffer fines and harsher penalties for those engaging in criminal activity with a firearm.
Attorney General Dale Marshall told CBC News the amendments will strengthen the arm of law enforcement as well as the judiciary, in relation to punishment for firearm offences.
He added that the government is launching a campaign to educate the public on what the amendments will mean.
