Following the successful hosting of three town hall meetings on NIS pension reform over the past week, Director of the NIS, Kim Tudor has revealed the next step in the consultation and revitalisation process.
The Director tells CBC News that there will also be compilation and analysis of the recommendations and comments from the suggestion boxes at the NIS office and the island’s post offices.
The recommendations and comments garnered via the online portal, suggestions@bginis.gov.bb and the NIS reform survey will also be compiled and analysed.
In addition, the Director says they will also be looking at the best practices from across the world.
She says several countries, including Chile and Sweden, have undertaken reforms, which we can learn from.
Ms. Tudor adds as a member of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), the NIS can also draw on its expertise and knowledge.
