Long lines were the order of the day as Barbadians flocked to Barbados Revenue Authority offices in a bid to meet today’s deadline for filing income tax.
The BRA’s Manager of Communications and PR, Carolyn Williams-Gayle, tells CBC News there will be no extension.
Queries have been raised about the inclusion of the one off tax-free $1500 payment made to employees of the public service and state-owned enterprises, as part of their remuneration.
A memo sent to Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Department instructed it would need to be entered in a specific section to prevent it from being taxed.
Ms. Williams-Gayle explains what should be done.
