The price of pork will not be going up – at least not right away.
The assurance from Henderson Williams, President of the Pig Farmers Association, who says they’re in the process of analyzing the situation.
Recently, the island’s largest feed producer, Pinnacle Feeds announced an 8% increase in livestock feed, citing the ongoing war in Ukraine and other factors as the cause.
Speaking to CBC News on the sidelines of the recent launch of Agrofest, Mr. Williams said pig farmers understand that escalating prices are an international trend.
