Health Minister Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic says there’s no truth to a social media message claiming Head of Isolation Facilities, Dr. Corey Forde, has been sent on leave.
The message suggests the action was taken after Dr. Forde stood up to the Prime Minister.
However, speaking in the Lower House today, Minister Bostic sought to put the rumour to bed.
He was speaking as the House passed a Resolution to extend the Public Health Emergency, which he says allows Government the flexibility to manage its pandemic response.
According to Minister Bostic, the Emergency Powers have among other things, allowed Government to designate schools and senior citizen homes as isolation facilities.
He gave an update on two recent COVID-19 outbreaks involving elder care facilities.
