Two young male nursing students of the Barbados Community College are among four recognised and rewarded, not only for their academic performance, but also work in the community.
Third-year students, Lian Clarke, Shakera Layne and Mark Yearwood were presented with the Eunice Coppin Award, and second-year nursing student Aldaro Blackman, the Lydia Bedford Award during a ceremony at BCC.
Each took home one thousand dollars donated by the Barbados Nurses Association of America Incorporated, along with a special token.
Deputy Principal, Dr. Cheryl Weekes acknowledged pursuing studies is a costly venture, and the BCC is always looking for opportunities to reward students monetarily.
Nursing student, Aldaro Blackman expressed gratitude of behalf of the recipients.
