With Barbados already reaping economic spin-offs from the current West Indies versus England series, a Government Senator is advising officials to consider submitting a bid to host the final of the 2024 ICC T20 Men’s World Cup.
Senator Gregory Nicholls made the suggestion during his first speech in the Senate this term.
With approximately 10,000 British supporters on island he said a lot of businesses, particularly those in accommodation, rental cars, restaurants and even service stations have all seen an upturn in their fortunes.
Additionally Senator Nicholls stresses the island has the capacity to accommodate and facilitate a sporting event of that magnitude.
