The Royal Barbados Police Force destroyed approximately 3 019 marijuana plants worth approximately $1.4 million dollars, on Saturday 24 October.
They said those trees were found in the areas of Lower Estate and Glebe Land in St George and Parish Land in Christ Church.
Acting Superintendent and Deputy Divisional Commander of the Southern Division, Roderick Walcott, stated that the trees were found as a result of police operations in the areas mentioned but no one was held as a result of investigations.
He explained that a decision was taken to destroy the marijuana trees since they are not connected to any matters at court.
There was a heavy security presence and the process was observed by members of the media, a Justice of the Peace and other police officers.
