Over 3000 students to sit 11 Plus

3,295 students are set to write the 2023 Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination (BSSEE) on Tuesday, June 27. 

The 1,665 males and 1,630 females are registered to write the exam at 21 secondary schools across the island.  

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training (METVT) in a release says 20 students have requested permission to sit the BSSEE, also known as the 11 Plus or the Common Entrance, at an early age (10 years old).

129 non-nationals have requested to write the BSSEE, and the METVT says of these, 126 have satisfied immigration requirements and will be allowed to write the examination.

The METVT has also received 180 special requests, ranging from scribes to large print. 

Meanwhile, exemptions from writing the exam have been granted to 56 students and 147 others have deferred.
