The planned phased return for students to the physical classroom on January 24th will more than likely be put on hold.
The Barbados Secondary Teachers Union is concerned about its teachers going back to the classroom in light of the surge in COVID-19 cases linked to the Omicron variant.
The BSTU is expected enter into discussions with education officials in the coming days, but President Mary Redman, tells the Morning Report her teachers are very concerned about the current COVID situation, with a record number of new cases registered over the past three days.
The BSTU boss reveals there were some pre-conditions for the restart of face-to-face classes regarding vaccination, which are yet to be met.
