Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley has defended her decision to take the portfolio of the state-owned Barbados Water Authority in her last cabinet reassignment.
And she’s promising to get the entity back in order in the next two years.
During her Budget wrap-up speech, Ms. Mottley described the situation at the BWA as much worse than anticipated in the earlier years with its last unqualified audit being done in 2017.
She also spoke about failed modernisation exercises and upgrades.
