PM Mottley to speak at State of the Black World Conference

Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley is listed among the slate of speakers for next month’s State of the Black World Conference in Maryland, USA.

The event, a 5-day conference aimed at assessing the condition of Black people in the US and globally, is set to run from April 19 to 23.

Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo, former Jamaican Prime Minister P.J. Patterson and Grenada’s Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell are among top level international leaders expected to interface with academics, activists and others.

Among the issues to be dealt with are reparations, water as a human right and crime and violence.

There will also be a special tribute to the late Maurice Bishop, the assassinated leader of the People’s Revolutionary Government of Grenada.
