The Barbados Police Service is investigating the unnatural death of a 66-year-old man.
He is Ronald Michael Brathwaite of Nelson Street, The City.
Police at the Central Station are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding Brathwaite’s death, whose unresponsive body was discovered floating in the Careenage, Bridgetown, St. Michael around 6:25 a.m. today, Sunday, November 5, 2023.
Police provided the following details on the death.
“About 6:30 a.m. on the mentioned date the Operations Control Centre received a call from a male stating that there was a body floating in the Careenage. Police responded and saw the body floating, face down in the area of the old Waterfront Cafe. The body was retrieved from the water with the assistance of the Barbados Coast Guard Personnel.
“A medical doctor pronounced death at the scene and the body was identified by a family member.
“Investigations are continuing.”
