Police have ensured some of the illicit firearms they have removed from the streets, will never be used again.
Close to a hundred of such weapons earmarked for destruction this morning, were displayed at the Central Police Station.
They included rifles, glocks and other types of pistols of all shapes and sizes that had been confiscated by lawmen.
One hundred and thirteen obsolete or condemned firearms of various calibres were also brought by officers from the Barbados Defense Force to be crushed.
Sargeant Liesl Gabriel of the Barbados Police Service says a specialist from the United Nations was on hand to witness the exercise.
