The Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association says the news of the tourism sector’s contribution to the country’s economic growth is a positive sign.
Chief Executive Officer of the BHTA, Ryan Forde, was responding to information in the Central Bank’s review of Barbados’ economic performance for January to September 2023, which showed the sector was the main driver of growth for the first nine months of the year.
Mr. Forde says all signs indicate tourism should also perform well for the remainder of the year, with the official start of the upcoming winter season.
