Leaders from Barbados and CARICOM are assembling in the Bahamas for the 44th Regular Meeting of Heads of Government.
The meeting gets underway tomorrow, with the opening ceremony at the Atlantis Resort, and will run until Friday.
Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM David Comissiong, who is currently in the Bahamas, says he will be pushing to boost bilateral relations with that country.
He’s to pay a courtesy call on the Bahamian Prime Minister today and tomorrow he will present his credentials as Barbados’ non-resident High Commissioner to the Governor General.
Ambassador Comissiong expects the summit to be an interesting one.
He says Barbados’ Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley is to update CARICOM on the work of her Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee on building the Caribbean Single Market and Economy.
Other updates will be provided on key areas of interest to the 15 member bloc.
