Patients seeking rehabilitation services at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital should soon be better able to access them.
This thanks to a donation of close to $4000 worth of specialised medical equipment to the Physiotherapy Department.
The equipment presented by the Rotaract Club of South Barbados included folding walkers with wheels, units to assist with pain management and exercise band kits.
The Club’s Immediate Past President, Graham Belle says the QEH was chosen as the main beneficiary, following a needs assessment conducted with the Physiotherapy Department.
Accepting the donation on behalf of the unit were President of the Barbados Physiotherapy Association Stacey Boyce and Senior Physiotherapist, Dr. Lynn Morris.
Dr. Morris says the equipment is critical to meet the increasing demand for rehab care.
