After 15 days of grueling and sometimes heated debate, the Fair Trading Commission’s (FTC’s) hearings into a rate increase application by the Barbados Light and Power Company came to an end today.
Closing arguments from both sides were heard, and now it is up to the Commission to make a decision on the matter.
Today’s proceedings began with Chairman, Dr. Donley Carrington, dismissing a number of motions that had been made by the various parties.
Among them, a request from some interveners for the Commission to direct the utility company to respond to some questions they believe were not satisfactorily answered.
