If all goes according to plan, Barbadians and other Caribbean nationals will have a private ferry service by year end to travel to select regional countries.
The tentative timeline for the Connect Caribe Ferry, which is being operated by the Pleion Group, was announced by its Chairman and CEO, Ambassador Dr. Andre Thomas.
It is a separate 50 million-plus US dollar venture that was announced recently by three Caribbean prime ministers.
Over 270 people are expected to find jobs in the first phase of the project.
Ambassador Thomas notes the number will increase as the different aspects are rolled out.
